Luis R. Alicea
Founder/President
Luis Alicea is a former Major League Baseball Second baseman. He played 13 seasons with Kansan City Royals, Texas Rangers, Anaheim Angels, St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox. He played College Baseball for the Florida State University Seminoles under head coach Mike Martin. After his playing days ended, He managed for the Red Sox minor league System from 2004 to 2006. In 2006 Alicea was named the first base coach for the Red Sox. He served in this position through the 2007 and 2008 Seasons. Alicea was then hired by the New York Mets to be their first base coach for the 2009 season. After the season Alicea pursued a career working with kids running an Academy locally in order to stay close to his family. In running this academy he felt it was necessary to set up this foundation in order to give back for what he had received so many years ago. Alicea is currently running this foundation along with spending time with his wife and small children.
Leliana Martins
Treasurer/Secretary
Leliana Martins is a graduate of University of Massachusetts with a BA degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting. During her college years she worked part time and Full time to help pay for her studies as a Customer service Representative at a local bank in her hometown. After graduating she pursued her career working privately as an Accountant and business administration for different Companies. She is currently a mother and wife with three children and actively promotes and supports their daily activities as students and athletes.
Edward Porcelli II
Board Member
Ed Porcelli was born and raised in Fairfield County, Connecticut and graduated from Wilton High School in 1983. After two years attending the University of South Florida he transferred to Florida State University and graduated with a BA in Literature in 1988. During his tenure at Florida State, Ed was a two-year letterman and played for the FSU baseball team and played in the College World Series both years. Ed and Luis played together during the 1986 season on the team considered to be the best in Seminole history. Ed has been an entrepreneur over the past 25 years in the Tampa Bay area and is also involved with many community organizations and charities. After building a successful contractors business Ed has been involved as a commercial and investment real estate agent for the past 7 years. He is also involved with RCS-a domestic violence support organization that helps victims of domestic violence and is currently a volunteer pitching coach with Pasco-Hernando State University in New Port Richey, Florida. His life revolves around his three daughters and his wife, Suzanne Goodknight of Tampa. Ed is also an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and continues to play baseball in an amateur league in Clearwater.
Suzanne Goodknight
Board Member
Suzanne M. Goodknight comes to the foundation with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the industry. Raised in Broward County and she graduated from Tallahassee Lincoln High as a junior ranked 3rd in her class and immediately started working on her Bachelor’s degree at Florida State. Her diligence and determination earned her an MBA before the age of 21 and has been working in Business Operations and Program Management in the IT field for Fortune 500 companies for the past 20 years. Suzanne has donated her time for many local charities and organizations in the Tampa Bay area and has served on the boards Religious Community Services (RCS), The Spring and Healing Root Ministries for their fundraising events. She continues to work with these organizations in various capacities to see their vision become more and more a reality. Suzanne has a passion for giving all kids a great start in life by serving as a role model and mentor every opportunity that presents itself. This starts with her husband and co-LASF board member Ed Porcelli and her children. Suzanne thrives to continue her passion with helping the LASF realize its’ full potential as a guiding light for children to realize their dreams to be successful in all walks of life.

Ariana is a two sport athlete: softball and volleyball. While attending the Philadelphia University, she will major in architecture.
Rolando Jose Petit Moron
Graduate of Chaminade Madonna – Class 2016
With an overall GPA of 4.227 and SAT score of 1600, Rolando will be attending college at St. Thomas University and will be part of the baseball program. His goal in life is to play college baseball while receiving his education.
